St Patrick's Walk Results 05/18/2010
Great day! 302 walkers and 200-250 teddy bears. We will be using the donation money to purchase additional teddy bears before we make the trip to turn them all over to the Washington County Sheriff's Office for their Buddy Bear program. This program provides officers with teddy bears to give to young children who are in traumatic situations. This is our 4th year of supporting this program. Thanks to all the walkers who brought stuffed animals or gave us money for this wonderful cause. One story to relate...as we were packing up the stuffed animals a little girl walked by and asked us what we were going to do with "all those snugglies". Monday, August 30th, start at 6:30PM. Meet at the Tualatin Fire and Rescue Station #66, 13900 SW Brockman Rd, Beaverton, OR. From Hwy 26, We recommend you avoid Hwy 217 due to traffic and take the Murray Rd exit south (left off ramp) instead. About 5 miles later, Turn LEFT onto Brockman Rd, the fire station is about 1/2 mile from the turn. (You've gone too far on Murray if you come to Scholls Ferry Road). Park in the school parking lot please. Good idea to bring a flashlight or wear reflective clothing as it's getting dark by the end of the walk . We do have a 5K version of this walk!
