We are in conversation with the Columbia County Shuttle Service about providing shuttle service between trailheads for this weekend's events in Vernonia and along the Banks-Vernonia State Trail. Before you get your hopes up, while they are working up a cost estimate, there is simply no way our club can afford to provide the service for free. So the real question is HOW MUCH ARE YOU WILLING TO PAY for use of a shuttle service that runs from Vernonia to Banks and back stopping at each trailhead to pick up and drop off walkers? They would operate from 9am to 4pm and each one-way trip would take about an hour.

I was wondering if you new how many participants you had for your walk last weekend along the Banks-Vernonia State Trail?

I'm also hoping to have a better dialog with your group(s) so that we could partner in the future on different events. If you have any contacts interested in being a liaison from your group with the park, let me know. I can then send along upcoming events that could be of interest for your group to participate in. Thanks - Ranger Steve

First count 148 walkers doing 202 walks....not too bad for the hot weather that weekend.
