Tucked away in the lobby of the athletic center, which is the northernmost building of the Howard Terpenning Recreation complex, Tualatin Hills Parks and Recreation District at 50 NW 158th, Beaverton 97006, lies the startbox for two nice walks. It is a stand-alone podium just to the left of the main entry as you enter the building. Water and restrooms are available at the start.

WATERHOUSE BOARDWALK: 10K Walk (6.2 miles), rated 1+ ...This is a beautiful walk through wetlands, forests, parks, neighborhoods, and the Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation complex. Enjoy neighborhoods and nature while exploring EXTENSIVE, scenic boardwalks and barkchip trails. Strollers and wheelchairs would have difficulty here. Qualifies for the Walk Oregon Challenge: Park Trails, and Namesakes.

NATURE PARK: 11K Walk, rated 1... A route through the wonderful Tualatin Hills Nature Park. Escape the urban environment and enter the peace and solitude of this large natural area. Via the recreation center trails, business parks, and wetlands trails, you'll reach the Nature Park for a stroll along the park's paved trails to the bench dedicated in the memory of our club's founder, Shirley Corey. Enjoy the peaceful solitude of the park before returning to the recreation center. This walk is suitable for strollers and wheelchairs if they can clear MAX light-rail track crossings. Restrooms are available in the park. If the park visitor center is open, restrooms, water and displays and a nice giftshop are available there as well. Pets are not allowed in the park. Walk during daylight hours only. The center is open during the following hours. Plan your walk with time to finish before the center closes.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday: 8:00 AM to 10:30 PM

Tuesday and Thursday: 6:00 AM to 10:30 PM

Sunday: 10:30 AM - 10:00 PM

Directions:
From I-5 Northbound:
Take Highway 217 to Highway 26 West. Exit #65 at Cornell Road/Bethany Boulevard. Turn Left on Cornell, then left on 158th. The athletic center is about one mile on the left. The start box is in the lobby of the basketball building, on the immediate left of the entrance.
From I-5 Southbound: take I-405 South. Exit onto Highway 26 West. Exit #65 at Cornell Road/Bethany Boulevard. Continue as above.
From NW Oregon Coast: Head East on Highway 26 toward Beaverton. Take the Cornell Road exit, and turn right. Left onto 158th. Continue as above.
