History : The Cedar Milers Volkssport Club was chartered on July 19, 1988 in Beaverton, Oregon. The club was originally sponsored by the Cedar Hills Lions Club. The club's first walk was the Evergreen Stroll which left from the Kaiser Clinic on Evergreen Parkway when development of the area was just underway. There were 1006 participants that day! Among the original Cedar Milers were Shirley Corey, Jean Newman, Melba McFarland, Colette Stockton, Jan Jarrett, Hank and Sarah Snyder, Anna Colcord, and Sarah and LouAnn Williams. Two of our current members, Colleen Seed and George Vennes were also among that industrious group who got us off on a great start as a club that focuses on friendly, quality walks.
We hold our club meetings on the 2nd Monday of most months at the Cedar Mill Community Library, 12505 NW Cornell Rd, Portland, OR 97229. Meeting time is 6:45-7:45pm in the upstairs community meeting rooms.
Our next meeting will be 6:45pm on February 13th!

Membership in the Cedar Milers is $10 annually or volunteering for a 2 hour work shift at one of our traditional walks each year. The $10 fee will be assessed following our final event each year to anyone who has NOT completed a volunteer work shift.
Remember you do not have to be a member of any club to participate in volkssports anywhere.
