HIstory : The Cedar Milers Volkssport Club was chartered on July 19, 1988 in Beaverton, Oregon. The club was originally sponsored by the Cedar Hills Lions Club. The club's first walk was the Evergreen Stroll which left from the Kaiser Clinic on Evergreen Parkway when development of the area was just underway. There were 1006 participants that day! Among the original Cedar Milers were Shirely Corey, Jean Newman, Melba McFarland, Colette Stockton, Jan Jarrett, Hank and Sarah Snyder, Anna Colcord, and Sarah and LouAnn Williams. Two of our current members, Colleen Seed and George Vennes were also among that industrious group who got us off on a great start as a club that focuses on friendly, quality walks.   

Community

     The Cedar Milers Volkssports Club, in association with the American Volkssports Association is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization. 

 Post Walk Donations:
    In the past 3 years alone we have donated over $1,000.00 to facilities and staff who have supported Cedar Miler activities to include the Cedar Mill Community Library, multiple facilities within the Tualatin Hills Parks and Recreation District (Garden Home, Howard Terpenning Center, Nature Park, and Jenkins Estate), Hillsboro Parks and Recreation, Vernonia Pioneer Museum, and Tillamook Forest Center.
